Advocating for the Hispanic Community in Southwest Florida
An important part of Attorney Mary Colina-Fowler’s work in Naples is supporting organizations that help the local Hispanic community use its collective voice to maintain strong representation. Her passion lies in ensuring a better life for Hispanic residents of Southwest Florida, a community she loves and is a proud member of.
Hispanic Vote of Southwest Florida
Mary is a friend and supporter of the Hispanic Vote of Southwest Florida, a nonpartisan 527 political action committee dedicated to informing and engaging the Hispanic community on voting and the political process. Most recently, she sponsored a Community Leaders networking event in Fort Myers.
Brooke’s Legacy Animal Rescue
Pets are important residents of Naples, too! Brooke’s Legacy Animal Rescue offers a second chance at life to dogs and cats in danger of being euthanized. The organization is named for Brooke Ashley Miller, whose mother Tink Bechtol started it to honor her animal-loving daughter, who died from injuries sustained in a car accident as she was preparing to celebrate her 18th birthday.
Brooke’s Legacy is a reminder that, while true justice for all awaits us in heaven, our best earthly work is in service to all living things.
Florida Justice Association
“The Florida Justice Association (FJA), formerly the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers (AFTL), is dedicated to strengthening and upholding Florida’s civil justice system and protecting the rights of Florida’s citizens and consumers.
We passionately believe that all Floridians benefit when deserving individuals have a fair chance to seek justice in our state’s courts and that Florida’s consumers are made safer when large corporations and industries are held to a high ethical standard and accept fair responsibility for their actions.
FJA works in the legislative, political and public arenas to ensure that Floridians know and understand the importance of their rights to justice and to make certain that these rights, which are at the very core of what it means to be American, are
safeguarded and protected.”
